My initial thought about this movie upon seeing the trailer before its release was that this is going to be one stupid and poorly made movie with terrible comedy. I also put a lot of thinking into the revelant connection on society's admiration of Japanese culture and how the movie was an exploration of that in order to draw in more viewers since during the time of its release, many people in my surroundings were discussing constantly about Japanese animation and the purchase of commodity relating to it was more visible than I had ever seen in my lifetime so far. I was for one against the idea of seeing it while I was working in a cinema during its release due to the poor humor.

Bullet Train is a movie which takes place inside a high speed train in Japan with events surrounding a suitcase in which various cast members are attempting to obtain. Each cast member has various reasons for the case but it all ensues in an all out battle inside the aforementioned train with the time limit of the last train stop. The suitcase is being delivered to the last stop by two, nothing identical in appearance, twins to the hand of a leader of a very powerful crime syndicate. Trouble ensues them when their assumingly simple task becomes chaos upon discovering the case missing.

This movie has from the opening scene has slowly shown connection with various cast members by introducing them first and gradually showing the ties that bind them together. Unknowingly the story is much deeper for as the movie progresses, the relationship between all cast members becomes more complex.

I must say that for what it is worth, the movie really didn't strike me as interesting with watching the trailer but seeing it in full a year after its release, with an open mind, I was impressed. The movie from the opening scene until the ending has not had a stale moment and my attention was sharp. There was not a dull moment in which the movie made me think of regret. Some of the comedy is in poor taste for myself but where the credit is deserved is that the movie has always something for the viewer to seen. There is always something going on, non-stop action with unthinkable outcomes.

Definitely must have snacks, beer and a girlfriend to enjoy the movie. I recommend it to watch but I think more than twice is too much for a person to endure. See it once, see it twice but I don't think it is worth watching more than that. A movie to see and enjoy but not one to think back too fondly of.
